The temple in Salt Lake City, the main one for the mormon churches. The temples are used to perform the works for the dead and also for marriages where they perform a ceremony to seal the marriages for eternity. This is what we were told by a mormon security man. Not sure if he was supposed to tell us though!!!

Isn't this an amazing shot, we took it from the top floor of the Joseph Smith memorial building. Again you can only go in here for a meal but we just walked in and got into the lift and up we went. It really is a dark place.

Ok so there were weddings going on when we were there & we saw that the gate was open.Now everyone knows that when you go to Salt Lake City that the gates are always closed. You can't get into the temple only on recommendation from your Bishop in a your local mormon church. However we saw that the gate was open and just walked in, only to stopped after 30seconds by security. We waffled our way through and the end result was that he liked us so much and thought we were so harmless that he even suggested that we go up to the front door and get our photos taken. God was amazing the way he gave us opportunities to talk to this guy and leave us walk around the temple. We told Dave's wife Mindi when we got back (she's an X-mormon) and she was in shock as for all her 20 something years as a mormon she never got near the temple esp this one being the head one.

We went into a mall in Salt Lake City and asked for our photo with Santa, I think they thought it was hilarious, we even got free candy canes!!

Idaho Falls was frozen but it looked amazing, we're standing with one of the Mormon temples in the background.

We went up further to the mountains & into a forest but when we saw a dark shadow in the trees we got out of there. Especially as it's that time of year when cogars hunt elk and deer......

What are the chances??? We were driving to another town called Idaho Falls and we found this estate. We found that all the streets in here were named after Irish towns or cities.
